The strategic importance of Precision Agriculture for agribusiness is the main topic of the 6th South-American Conference of Precision Agriculture and Precise Machinery (APSUL in South America). Stara attended the event that started on Tuesday 26th, at the Expodireto Cotrijal Fair Park in the town of Não Me Toque. The conference assembled more than 750 people.

For the president of the Farmers’ Union and APSUL América, Teodora Lütkemeyer, “We do more and better using the technology available to reduce costs, environment impacts and increase yields. It is a pleasure to start the APSUL in South America. We’ve got a very special schedule to discuss such important subjects. It is a huge opportunity to acquire knowledge.”

During the opening ceremony of the conference, the Stara co-owner, Mr. Gilson Trennepohl spoke about the importance of the event. “This conference is the result of a small idea, and it expanded. Today, it is a tremendous success. Brazil might be the country that least pollutes in the world. The Brazilian agribusiness feeds more than one billion people in the world and can produce twice more. The ones who criticize agriculture should see for themselves the life of a farmer in the field to become aware of the difficulties they face at least for a day. It is such a noble occupation”, said Mr. Gilson Trennepohl.

The Stara CEO, Átila Stapelbroek Trennepohl, attended APSUL 2023 too. “This event is crucial and has been held for 14 years. Não Me Toque is the National Capital of Precision Agriculture, and Stara is one of the companies that helped the town receive this title. APSUL has grown to provide new ideas and perceptions for agribusiness and technology.”

This year, the main subject was “The Precision Agriculture Role to Agricultural Sustainability.” The conference gathered 52 panelists and mediators, nine being foreigners.  For Thomas Liska, Stara’s Product Marketing coordinator, the event is very important to Stara because Precision Agriculture is in Stara’s DNA. There is a smart and powerful audience in agriculture participating in this conference. We are glad to be close to this great team.”
