Farmers from South Africa visited the Stara headquarters in Brazil

Since 2006, the Stara agricultural machines efficiency has been present in the South African soil. It’s been nearly two decades providing innovation and positivity in the crop fields of that country, which proves the strong brand operation in the international market and highlights its constant evolution DNA.

In order to strengthen the partnership with the South African customers, previously established through an imported company, Stara inaugurated an own office in the city of Joanesburgo, capital of Gauteng province in November 2024.

To foster this relationship of trust, a group of South African customers was invited to come to Brazil to get to know the company structure and the manufacturing process of sprayers, planters, spreaders, and other Stara agricultural solutions.

In addition to live moments of joy and celebration during the event on last Tuesday 12^th, the visitors were guided into a tour through the Stara foundry in the city of Carazinho, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, where casting components are made to further be assembled on the machines.

Then, they were brought to the town of Não Me Toque, where they were welcomed with a presentation of Brazil history and the agricultural evolution in the country lectured by the Stara commercial director, Márcio Fülber. Next, they were told about the company history, from the Stapelbroek family arrival in Brazil in 1949 to nowadays. Highlight was given to the Stara operations abroad and a larger market share in South Africa.

After that, the farmers visited the company headquarters to see the step-by-step of the manufacturing process, including the cutting, bending, welding, painting, and assembly processes, the managing departments and the environment created for the employees.

Subsequently, they watched some Machine Demo, in which the remarkable features and technologies of some of the Stara products can provide. The ones that stood out were the Imperador 3000, Imperador 3.0 and Imperador 2500 self-propelled sprayers; the Hércules 6.0 self-propelled spreader, the Hércules 10000 trailed spreader, the Bruttus 18000 spreader by gravity, and the Twister 1500 hydraulic spreader.

The farmer Gert Prinsloo of Ventersburg highlighted how glad he was to see the Stara headquarters for himself: “The visit to the Stara plant was impressive. There are no better words to describe it. It’s amazing what people are doing here. All the history, from the first to the end product process makes things really interesting,” emphasized the moment that had impressed him the most. “The factory foundry was unbelievable to see. The way they start the process from scratch and the way they assemble everything to make a whole product. To me, it was an impressive highlight of the tour, and I got breathless.”

Additionally, he mentioned he had a Twister 1500 spreader and an Imperador 2000 sprayer on his farm. He points out the quality and efficiency of the Stara machines. “Twister is an amazing implement and very easy to use, really intuitive. It does spread precisely, according to the adjustments we set. The sprayer also works well to us. We started working with it and I really like to operate it. We achieved our goals and this is really impressive to me. It is for sure an extraordinary machine,” he said.

Visiting Brazil for the first time, Milne Bredenkamp, a farmer of Bultfontein, mentioned that he heard about the Stara products among friends that had already used the brand machines. He stood out that the visit made him to create higher expectations from the company. “I’m really impressed from what I saw, tried and heard about the company. What most called my attention was the planters and the self-propelled sprayers,” he said.

At the end of the day, the visitors were invited to dine a delicious gaúcha cuisine to celebrate.
